Christopher began his wellness pursuit in Anchorage, Alaska, as a young Chef who was
accustomed to long hours on his feet and often logged as many as18,000 steps on an
average day as a Food & Bev Director. His practice led him to a highly regarded Pilates
Studio before a friend in the industry, took him to his first “Hot Flow” class.
The seed of yoga was planted and in his next transition back to the east coast. He
began practicing in a Hatha studio in Portland, Maine, whose owner offered
scholarships for members of the recovery community. Post covid shutdown after
relocation to Key Largo, Christopher discovered Kat Wheatley’s “Yoga for 12-step.
Recovery” (Y12SR) class becoming a frequent practitioner.
He was finally invited by former studio owner Kathy Shirley to participate in a 200-hour
certification which led to his first teaching opportunity, outside of the studio, in
Yellowstone. While there he brought both first-time beginners and extremely athletic
advanced yogis through a three-month student/teacher journey, which often included
the magnificent beauty and raw splendor of the oldest National Park in the world.
Now back in the Keys, when he is not working as a personal chef and small event
caterer, he is an active member of a Lakota Sioux Community and spends his time
learning and honoring their traditions. He is proud and honored to be teaching in the
studio which has been so supportive of his transformative road through recovery.
Namaste!
