108 Sun Salutations to Welcome Spring

Key Largo Yoga Honors the Spring Equinox

Celebrate the first day of Spring with 108 Sun Salutations. 108 has long been considered a sacred number in the Hindu culture where yoga originated, and by performing 108 sun salutations we honor this ancient culture as well as the advent of spring!

It’s time for spring cleaning… not only in your home, but in your heart and mind. Time now to let go and to make way for something new. This practice is a perfect place to start your own renewal, whether it’s an energetic one, an emotional one, or a spiritual one.

All level practitioners are encouraged to attend. 108 Sun Salutations can be very demanding but resting is ALWAYS an option. Please consider joining so that you can take part in this powerful energetic shift.  Surya means sun and namaskar comes from the root word which means “not mine”.  We honor the significance of the sun, the light of the world and our primary source of heat.

Yoga At The Wall

Drawing on the expertise and passion we have within our team, Key Largo Yoga will be offering several workshops this year by our very own amazing teachers.

This month Kat Wheatley will offer a two-hour workshop on yoga poses at the wall. Kat loves breaking the asanas down with detailed alignment cues as a way of getting deeper both in the pose and in the practice.

Just in time for the advent of spring, taking your yoga to the wall will breathe new life into your practice, uncover bad habits, improve your alignment and guide you towards a deeper sense of the pose within your own body.

Part I

“It is through the alignment of the body that I discovered the alignment of my mind, self, and intelligence.”

B.K.S. Iyengar
Part II

In the second part we will focus on the everyday practicality of the first 16 of the Yoga Sutras and we will explore how understanding them can truly help us align our minds and open us up to our essence and our own actuality.

“The Mastery of Yoga must not be measured simply by the ability to master the techniques of yoga like asana and prananyama, but by how it influences our day-to-day living, how it enhances our relationships and how it promotes clarity and peace of mind.”
